Accelerating student learning through professional developmentBattelle for Kids has quickly become a leader in the development of learning systems that empower educators and school districts. As they began to develop a new series of courses focused on Formative Assessment (an "as you go" measure of student progress, rather than a single high stakes test), they engaged Shift to re-organize and re-envision their comprehensive face-to-face content into a series of segmented, progressive digital courses. As part of this effort, Shift planned an architectural and technical framework for the entire series of courses that included the design and development of a series of templates, designed to live on B4K's custom LMS. At the same time, we created a number of XML-driven Flash modules that are infinitely customizable, allowing module after module to be developed by B4K without a single Flash developer. Finally, Shift organized all of the existing course materials into a single, paced narrative for maximum comprehension. |
